Kogi Workers To Get May Salary Before Sallah-Asiwaju Asiru
Kogi State Government says workers salary will be paid before the Eid el Fitri celebration.
The Commissioner of Finance, Asiwaju Idris Asiru made this known while speaking with Assembly Correspondent on Tuesday in Lokoja.
Asiwaju Asiru noted that the development is to enable the civil servants to celebrate the end of the Ramadan Fast.
He said on or before the Eid el Fitri celebration, workers will be credited for their May Salary.
The Commissioner however said despite the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the State economy, government has put machinery in place for the effective implementation of this Year’s budget.
According to him, government has revised the state Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) for this year which he noted has been submitted to the State House of Assembly for approval.
On the judgement of the Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja on the petition by the Candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Barrister Natasha Akpoti , the Commissioner described it as a victory for the masses and congratulated Governor Yahaya Bello for the well deserved victory.
Asiwaju Idris expressed optimism that the Governor will win other petitions in no distance time than now.
