*KOSIEC Engage Electoral Officers Across the 21 Local Government Areas of the State*
In preparation for the local government elections scheduled for the 12th of December, 2020, Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) has engaged Electoral Officers, EOs, for the 21 local government areas across the State.
The documentation of the Electoral Officers followed the issuance of letters of engagement to the officers in other to prepare them adequately for the December polls.
The engagement of the 21 local government electoral officers and their assistants are with immediate effect and to be proceeded by necessary orientation and trainings to ensure that they carry out their duties more effectively.
Earlier, the Chairman of KOSIEC, Hon. Mamman Nda Eri met with other Electoral Commissioners and deliberated extensively on the commission’s preparedness for the upcoming primary elections by political parties interested in fielding candidates for the elections.
The Commissioners pledged to work in accordance with the stipulated timetable of the commission and create an open avenue for addressing complains from any political party.
They stressed the need for total transparency in the conduct of the local government elections and equally assured the public of the willingness of the electoral body to ensure that peaceful and conducive atmosphere is maintained to ensure free, fair and transparent electoral process.
