Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, on Saturday graced the Walimatul Qur’an and wedding of Rabiat Arinola, daughter of the Secretary of the APC Elders Forum, Hon. AbdulMumin Katibi.
Those in attendance at the colourful event included Chief Wole Oke, Alhaji Abubakar Ndakene, Alhaji Mohammed Ahmed, Hon. Al- Hassan Bagudu and Chairman, Kwara Television Service, Alhaji Hameed Adio.
Others are Engr. Layi Ayinde, Barr. Teju Oguntoye, a Commissioner at TESCOM, Alhaji Kobe, Asiwaju of Share, Alhaji M.T. Lawal and Alhaji Ilyasu AbdulRahman Iponrin.
The Chairman, Kwara State Arabic Board, Prof Mashood Jimba, Prof Katibi and regional editor of LEADERSHIP Newspapers, Alhaji Abdullahi Olesin, also graced the event.
In his brief sermon, Ustaz Abdullahi Katibi, stressed the importance of the study and recitation of the Holy Qur’an.
He enjoined Muslim parents to ensure that their children master the art of the Holy Qur’an, saying that’s more beneficial than the western education.
Mukadam Ibrahim Oniwiridi who administered the Walimatul Qur’an event, corroborated the guest lecturer on the imperative for the study of Qur’an by Muslims, old and young.
