The people of Kwara State have again been enjoined to pray for the success of the present administration under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
The State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi, who gave the charge in Ilorin during his message at the 5th Christmas Carol Service of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Christian Fellowship, noted that the prayers of the people would do more than can ever be imagined, especially at this critical period where the socio-economic and political challenges facing the Nation are becoming more worrisome.
Mr Alabi described Governor AbdulRazaq as a tested, trusted and reliable leader that would take the State to the destination of the people’s dream.
The Deputy Governor, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Political, Cabinet and Special Services, Mrs Esther Oluyomi, also described the theme of this year’s carol “a great light” as apt, noting that any individual, government or Nation that allows Christ would experience great transformation in all ramifications.
He applauded the Kwara State NUJ Christian Fellowship for holding forth for Christ, urging them to be committed to spreading the good tidings about Jesus Christ whose birth heralded hope for mankind.
The Senor Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Mr Fafoluyi Olayinka Michael who was the Chairman of the occasion called on the people to sustain the peaceful co-existence in the State, adding that the government would continue to fulfill its obligations and meet the needs of the people.
The SSA New Media pledged that the government would continue to partner with NUJ to ensure adequate dissemination of information to the people.
Speaking on the theme of the Carol, the Guest Minister, Reverend Joseph Agboluaje who is the Executive Secretary DCC ECWA Fate/Tanke, Ilorin called on Christians to be the light of the World and good ambassadors of Jesus Christ.
Reverend Agboluaje implored Nigerians to shun corrupt practices in whatever form, desist from sin and work for the progress and development of the Nation.
In his message, the Chairman, Kwara State NUJ, Mallam Abdullateef Ahmed said the Union would continue to play it part in uniting and ensuring peace co-existence at all times.
Earlier in his address of welcome, the Chairman of the Fellowship, Special Apostle Bunmi Adedoyin said the programme was put together to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ the saviour of all mankind and to appreciate the mercy of God in their lives.
Special Apostle Bunmi Adedoyin expressed appreciation to people who assisted and supported the Fellowship in organizing the Carol pledging the body would continue to sustain the annual programme in its bid to propagate the gospel.
Various Choirs were on ground to give God for His mercy, love and benevolence on the people.
