LET US ESCHEW POLITICS OF BITTERNESS IN KOGI STATE

Spread the love

The recent protest by some individuals in Abuja came to us as a rude shock through some of our colleagues from Kogi East. It was a terrible decision of choosing disunity over harmony. This is the work of a few desperate political actors who had wished to sow the seed of discord in the state. Due to the good efforts of His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello, to tackle insecurity in the state, it must be noted that the state has been ranked as Nigeria’s second-most peaceful state since 2017. Fighting crimes against the state is vital to our democracy and national cohesion. No one can win an election in Kogi state by mere garnering public sentiments and incite the people against the state.

If one is politically rooted and accepted by the people, you need to come down and organise your structure, if you have one, before launching a campaign for your candidate to win the upcoming governorship election. Let’s quit playing mediocre and bitter politics.
Recently, the convoy of a sitting governor was attacked, but no individual or groups mounted a protest. Instead of the superfluous protest, it is necessary to contact the state-wide security agents who conducted operations. In the past, the administration of Kogi State, led by Alh Yahaya Bello, evicted some criminals from Kogi Central and demolished their homes. The citizens of Kogi Central admired the government and the security agents; no protests were lodged in response. Whether we like it or not, fate has brought us together as Kogites despite our ethnic differences; let us learn to accept that power belongs to the all-powerful God, and He chooses whom to give it to at each material time. Do not incite violence in the state while you and your family are living confortably in Abuja or outside the country. Enough is enough with all of this commotion. Let’s settle down together, deliberate as one entity and advance the economy of our cherished state to the point where you and I no longer consider ourselves to be Igala, Ebira, or Okun but a citizen of kogi state. Let us think KOGI FIRST. God bless KOGI STATE.
