LOCAL GOVERNMENT PIVOTAL TO GRASSROOT DEVELOPMENT

The New Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr Salami Mamodu Ozigi has stated that theMinistry is very pivotal in Government affairs especially as it relates to grassroot developments

Barr Ozigi made this known during his median meeting with the Management and staff of the Ministry in Lokoja.

The New Commissioner further noted that he will sustain,add value and consolidated on the achievements of his predecessor adding that his administration will be guided by the laws which established the ministry.

Barr Ozigi said he will use his wealth of experience to move the Ministry forward adding that as a lawyer he believes in orderliness and adherence to rules.

He appealed to the staff members to respect hierarchy stressing that they should avoid indolence, backstabbing and acts that are against the civil service rules

The New Commissioner urged the staff members to build good relationship in order to achieve maximum results He added that he will continue to place the welfare of the staff members under high priority.

In his response the permeant secretary of the Ministry, Engr Usman Dan Victor thanked the Governor for appointing the new commissioner to the Ministry. He assured the commissioner of the loyalty of the staff members to his office.

Engr Usman called on the new Commissioner to build on the work of his predecessor adding thanks the staff members are hard working and ready to co operate with him.

He also called on the staff members to accord the new Commissioner high cooperation adding that they should work hard to sustain their good work and he submissive to higher authorities.

In a vote of thanks, the Director of Administration and finance, Mrs Stella Andy pledged that the members of staff of the Ministry will work with the new Commissioner. He assured the Commissioner that he will enjoy the cooperation of the staff members.

Mrs Andy appealed to the members of staff to be hand working in all their department
maintaining they should always give the performance of their job high priority.
