Lokoja Mega Terminal Operation; Baron Okwoli Swings Into Action .

Kogi state government is not resting on its oars to ensure that the Lokoja Mega Terminal (LMT) kick start operations fully by July ending.

The Honourable commissioner, Kogi State Ministry of Transportation, Baron Okwoli made the statement when he led sub- committee members to the Lokoja Mega Terminal to inspect facilities at the Mega Park.

Honourable Baron stated emphatically that the executive governor of Kogi state Alhaji Yahaya Bello had given a ‘marching order’ for the Park to be put into full use by the end of July.

Okwoli,while giving an update on Operational Levies for different categories of Vehicles says,thorough research and calculations have been made to that effect,adding that more updates would be delivered to committee members.

He assured committee members that the state would no doubt wear a new look as the transportation sector would be transformed.

He encouraged members of the committee not to relent, but continue to generate new ideas to move the transportation sector forward.

Okwoli however vowed that the investment will not be allowed to waste away.

Recall that the governor had inaugurated three seperate committees to work out modalities for the smooth take- off of the Terminal.

It can also be recalled that the committee had met severally to design Action Plan and Terms of Reference at the Ministry.

Lokoja Ultra modern park was commissioned with the aim of ensuring that transportation activities (inter-state, intercity and intra-city) are conducted in a secured and conducive environment without any adverse effect on traffic flow within Lokoja City.

The Lokoja Mega Terminal has the capacity of retaining not less than 500 vehicles at a time.

Facilities at the Terminal includes; Terminal Building, Food Court,ATM Gallery, Loading Bays,Security Posts, Gate Houses,Drivers Lounge, Rest Rooms, Mechanical Workshops, Generator/ Power House, Car Wash, VIO/ KOTRAMA Section amongst others..
