Mawlid: Kogi Assembly Speaker Celebrates With Muslims, Gov’t

The speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf has congratulated global Islamic community, particularly Muslims in Nigeria and the state on the occasion of Mawlid-el-Nabiyy (S.A.W) to mark the birth of the noble Prophet Muhammad.
In a press statement signed and made available to the media by the Chief Press Secretary to the speaker, Yabagi Mohammed, Rt Hon Umar enjoined Muslims to use the occasion to reflect on their lives and the values the Prophet stands for as contained in Islamic Holy Books.
The speaker, who enjoined Muslims to use the occasion to promote peaceful coexistence with their neighbours and colleagues irrespective of tribe and religion, reminded them that it is part of the teachings of the Prophet to always promote peace in the society.
He also used the occasion to congratulate the government and people of the state on the occasion, and particularly mentioned the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and members of the state Assembly, the judiciary and the executive arms and wished them the blessings in the period.
He also prayed to Allah to grant the state government the wherewithal to pilot the affairs of citizens and urged the citizens to use the period of the Mawlid-el-Nabiyy to pray for the betterment of the country and the state in particular.
