Missing Logo: Labour Party Heads to Court, Seeks Cancellation of House of Representatives Election in Lokoja Kogi Federal Constituency.

The Labour Party in Kogi State has gone to court seeking for the cancellation of the House of Representatives Election held on the 25th February, 2023 in Lokoja, Kogi Federal Constituency.

The Labour Party is seeking the cancellation of the election owing to the Independent National Electoral Commission not obeying court orders.

Recalled that the Court had in a Judgement asked INEC to recognize the names of some Labour Party Candidates for which the Labour Party Candidate for Lokoja Kogi Federal Constituency, Hon. Zacchaeus Jonathan was amongst and the name forwarded to the Electoral Commission.

Unfortunately, the Labour Party described as unfortunate that it party Logo was absent on the ballot at the National Assembly Election held across the country on the 25th February, 2023.

The Party notes that INEC failed to obey court order, added that despite Labour forwarding names to INEC, the Party’s Logo was conspicuously missing on the ballot.

Speaking with the Nigerian Post, the Labour Party House of Representatives Flagbearer For Lokoja Kogi Federal Constituency, Hon. Zacchaeus said the election cannot hold, described the election as null and void.
