OUR CONDOLENCES
The MURI-SAM governorship campaign Council, OgoriMagongo chapter received with shock and disbelief the news of the gruesome murder of Mr. Taiye Edahson, the Special Assistant on Security Matters in the Local Government Area by unknown gunmen in between the neighbouring villages of Makeke and Ekpe, in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State on Sunday, October 1, 2023.
The late Mr. Edahson spent his last few years on earth providing synergy between the community security network and the local government security apparatus.
We condemn in strong terms this dastardly and cowardly act by a criminal gang operating lawlessly without any iota of humanistic feelings in the thick forest, along the border lines of Ogori-Magongo and Akoko-Edo Local Government Areas.
This criminal non-state actors must be flushed out and made to face the full weight of the law. We therefore wish to call on the government of Edo and Kogi states to act swiftly and urgently in dislodging this outcasts from their hideouts.
The Council, on behalf our governorship candidate, Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka and his deputy, Chief Sam Abenemi, wish to sincerely commiserate with the immediate family of the late Edahson in particular and the good people of OgoriMagongo in general on this huge loss.
We join the community to pray for the repose of his soul.
