Governor Abdullahi Sule gave the directive during a press briefing at the government house lafia.
Since the outbreak of COVID nineteen across the globe and the country ,some of the measures put in place by government at all levels and Nigerian center for disease control NCDC is social distancing, avoiding large gathering including closure of worship centres among other measures to contain the Spread of Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the World.
It is against this backdrop that Nasarawa State governor Abdullahi Sule directed the closure of all neibourhood mosque and barned the tafsir, tarawee and tahajjud prayers in the month of Ramadan.
Governor Sule who spoke through the emir of Lafia Justice Sidi Muhammad Bage retired said the decision was to prevent the outbreak of the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic in the state.
While calling On people of the state to be patient with the situation, the state governor urged residents to observe tarawee and tahajjud prayers at home with thier families,while tafsir will be monitore through televisions and radio stations.
On Part, the state commissioner of police Bola Longe said police and other sister agencies will continue to work hand in hand to ensure full compliance.
The police commissioner explained that anybody found wanting will face full wrath of the Law.
