*Onoja James wins Igalamela/Odolu chairmanship election*
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, James Onoja Omachonu has been declared winner of the chairmanship election in Igalamela/Odolu local government area.
The results, as announced by the KOSIEC returning officer of the local government, Zekeri Adama “as forwarded to him by all ward returning officers” indicates that the APC candidate received a total of 11906 to defeat his closest rival, Ali Hawa Musa of the PDP, who pulled a total of 67 votes.
Speaking shortly after the declaration of the results, the chairman elect, James Onoja, expressed delight with the outcome of the election.
“I am highly delighted with the outcome of this election. I thank the officials of KOSIEC, security agencies and voters for a job welk done.
“Power is divinely bestowed. I thank God and appreciate the people of Igalamela/Odolu local government area for displaying confidence in my ability to govern over the affairs of this great local government area.
“I assure the people of Igalamela/Odolu local government area of my readiness to work towards ensuring that we realise landmark achievements during the course of my administration.”
He commended the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his “admirable leadership qualities” and expressed confidence in his leadership of the All Progressives Congress in the state.
Before his election, James Onoja was the SSA Security to the Governor in charge of Igalamela/Odolu local government area.
