Opinion: Igalamela/Odolu APC Suporters are not Fools
With done deals being declared here and there like European football transfers, it is easy for the feeble minded to get swept away. Many have forgotten the fact that there is no deal until all the criteria required for a deal have been satisfied.
As far as Igalamela/Odolu chairmanship tussle is concerned, NO DEAL has been struck with anyone, but if living in a fools paradise is what you prefer, then knock yourself out.
Professional racketeerers will do what they do best. Their greedy appetites are not easily satisfied. Their juicy promises are indeed enticing only to fools.
Governor Yahaya Bello is not a product of imposition by any godfather. Though he is the undisputed leader of the APC in the state at the moment, he completely allowed internal democracy to flourish as evident in the 2019 general election.
Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Igalamela/Odolu have since disregarded the enormous erroneous impression circulated on air, online and offline that a particular candidate has been anointed by GODFATHERS in Abuja (or was it in Dubai?).
To even suggest that a governor as experienced as Alhaji Yahaya Bello, will adopt the recommendations of a diaspora citizen without the imputes of his own stakeholders and officials of his own government is idiotic and laughable.
A lot of persons still don’t get it. Only people from Odolu Axis can contest for chairman this time, and Akpanya will be the least ward up for consideration.
As people gear up for December 12, the public should bear in mind that the teeming supporters, well-wishers and party men and women of the APC will lose no sleep on the fake, purported and ridiculous endorsement or imposition; as APC being a Progressive party will not be servile to any undemocratic principle that will not create necessary level field for just and fair opportunities for all her aspirants.
In the absence of consensus candidates agreed by all stakeholders, (which is not forthcoming at the comment) Free and Fair Primary Election remain the only means through which APC Flagbearers should emerge.
To round it up, it is appropriate to emphasize that it is high time, APC as a party in Kogi recognized the efforts of true party men who have resolutely worked hard and remained committed to the party’s ideals and honour the principle of rotational leadership anchored on equity.
