The Administrator of Okene Local Government, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad has commended the efforts of security agencies in the area for sustaining the peaceful coexistence among the people and ensuring their continue security of lives and property as he assured them of government capacity to provide the needed support for their operations.
Hon. Abdulrazaq made the commendation at a security meeting with the heads of security agencies in Okene. The Council Administrator maintained that, security and peaceful coexistence of the people remain a top priority of his administration, hence, the security agencies should not rest on their oars instead redoubled their efforts in preventing crime and criminalities.
After reviewing the available reports, the security agencies resolved to continue the massive deployments of security officers to the central mosque to beef up security for the worshippers and of course the daily show of force across the town as a signal to criminals that Okene is not a comfortable abode for criminalities.
The Administrator also directed security agencies to go after drug peddlers, arrest and prosecute drug abusers especially the youths. They were mandated to curtailed the incidences of youth’s involvement in cultism as reported in some places, tame the high rate of prostitution among the girls and intake of narcotics while placing a total ban on night clubs within the jurisdiction of Okene Local Government.
There was total assurances from the security agencies and promises of neutrality, professionalism and inter-agency collaboration in the discharge of their constitutional duties
