As Muslims all around the world begins fast in the holy month of Ramadan, the Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly & member representing Ankpa 1 constituency, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed felicitate and enjoined Muslims to imbibe the virtues of love, peace and sacrifice, which were the attributes of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and intensify prayers to God to heal the world of the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging nations and killing people in their thousands as Government strives on its part to control the spread of the virus.
The Deputy Speaker who reminded the good people of Ankpa 1 particularly, of the power of prayers and the exploits of fasting through prayers when the children of Medina were faced with many challenges and how the Allah intervened to save the people called for more prayers and intercessions.
The Deputy Speaker described Ramadan as one of the foundation of Islam, encouraged Muslims to uphold the significance of the Lenten season which comes with the value of repentance, self-denial and prayer.
He restated the need for simple personal hygiene and adherence to precautionary measures in order not to contract the virus and further urged Nigerians not to leave the task of nation building to the government alone, stressing the need for everyone to contributes their quota especially in the face of the worst global pandemic in history (Corona Virus).
