
Security In Kogi; 8year old Ummu Kulthum Finally Met SSA Security In Okene, Thank Gov. Bello
Some months ago, Ummu Kulthum Muktar Anaje, 8year old primary 2 pupil who hail from Okengwe in Okene Local Government had watched a documentary in one of the national TV on the effect of banditry, kidnappers and Boko Haram on children in some parts of Northern Nigeria and how it has affected the education of those children especially the girl child.
On this, the little girl enquire to know what offence the children of those areas committed to warrant such treatment and why has she not experience same since they both live in the same country (Nigeria).
The father responded, “ to the best of his knowledge, children of those areas didn’t committe any offence but victims of circumstances and as for why you haven’t experience same in Okene Local Government, the Governor of your state has placed the security of lives and property of all citizen a matter of top priority.
He also appointed Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad Yusuf the one we popularly called “Ya Muhammad” to take charge of your security at the Local Government level. So, you are safe because Gov. Yahaya Bello and Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad have both decided to sacrifice time, energy and resources to provide security for the people.
Few weeks ago, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security Matters in charge of Okene Local Government, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad received phone call from a familiar citizen of the Local Government and after they exchanged pleasantaries, the man requested the Council boss to speak to his 8 year old daughter, Ummu Kulthum Muktar Anaje who for months had pleaded to meet with him to appreciate the government on this giant stride.
The humble fmr council administrator obliged the request and after few minutes of phone talk, he promised to receive in his office at her convenient time.
On Thursday, 20th August 2020, Ummu Kulthum finally met the SSA Security at the Council Secretariat in Okene. At a glance, the little girl displayed high sense of responsibility, respect and intelligence while interacting with her host. She expressed gratitude to Gov. Yahaya Bello for making Kogi State safe for her and other children to live in peace and go to school safely.
Hon. Abdulrazaq appreciated her sense of humour and assured her that government won’t rest but will continue do more to sustain peace in the state. He tasked her to take the gospel to others especially her colleagues in school when they eventually resume.
