Channels Television political correspondent and a social activist, Seun Okinbaloye has challenged the Nigerian government saying that the Political Leadership that fixes this nation will be a hero, the people that push for the change will be happy for generations to come.

This he said while fielding answers to the recent Tv chat a few moments ago stressing that Nigerians can then begin to flash their identity as the really great people that they are.

Meanwhile, he has asked how long Nigerians will keep singing that Nigeria has great potentials? And challenged those potentials to start working for good.

In his words, this present fury does not inspire an overhaul of the Nigerian system, then we may be headed for another restless round of 60 years of disastrous merry go round. This Nation needs a RESET NOW”

It is a good time to negotiate the fixing of this great Nation”

If we must tell our selves the bitter truth as a people we urgently need to fix these;

A drastic cut in the cost of governance

Federal Ministers should not be more than ten.

Remove the lofty attraction in public office

Reduce the powers of the center and decentralize reasonably

Fix our defective constitution

Reset the civil service

Create regional economic/developmental competition

Allow states to explore their resources/endowment.

He however opined that government should resort to Unicameral Legislature

No state should have more than six Commissioners and five aides to the Governor’s office

It’s either Local council works or we forget about grass-root governance

Very stern and severe punishment for stealing public funds.

On a rather deeper look at things, he added that Police brutality is the topmost of the agitation but the anger and fury are deeper, bottled up for many years. Oppression our fathers have endured and the children now say No More, Enough is Enough!

In other words, these things he has stated seem to be another agenda entirely. In the context of our current agitation, we’re only demanding a reliable system that checks police brutality, corruption, extortion, inefficiency. This our current demand is not a metaphor, it’s what we want for starters and it is domiciled on bad governance.
