Hon. Leke Joseph Abejide has always desired a better life for his people and the society in general. He has demonstrated this in the lives of people including indigent students, widows, the less privileged, in various communities over the years. This has inspired him to seek a platform in public service to impact more on the larger society.
Who is Leke Abejide?
Leke Abejide is a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives and currently seeking for a re-election to the national assembly in next month’s general elections on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Yagba Federal Constituency of Kogi State. He is an astute business man and a philanthropist of high repute. He graduated from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained his first degree in Economics and the Bayero University, Kano where he obtained his Masters degree. He hails from Alu in Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Hon. Abejide is a man with a humble beginning, with no silver spoon in his mouth. A man, whom you would like to meet personally, he is good looking, loving, a trusted friend, reliable and accommodating. His patriotism for his fatherland, his unquenchable love for a disciplined life-style, his insatiable appetite for challenges, his spirit of perseverance and endurance and his tenacity of purpose, all combined to make him a good leader and representative of his people. He is incorruptible, always displaying skill, dexterity, brisk, competence and he is very humane. Leke is a proven achiever with an irresistible charisma and a track record of leadership qualities such as transparency, honesty and accountability have made many people to see him as a true leader of the people.
Hon. Abejide is a man of great destiny. He is a current member of the Nigerian House of Representatives, he is an Okun-Yoruba by tribe, a Christian, a philanthropist, legislator and an administrator. He is a loyal, dedicated and dependable politician. He is absolutely loyal to his constituents, he is a leader that believes in human development and he works towards achieving happiness for those who care to meet him. Without mincing words, he is an epitome of love, hard-work and success. He is a man with several superlative attributes. A great leader, who in the past and present too, has touched the lives of several people and all these have endeared him to many within and outside Kogi State.
Elder Leke Abejide is someone that is very calculative, constructive and bold while making comments on the floor of the House and this alone has endeared the people of his constituency to him, meaning that he is prompt, focused and always determined to bring issues affecting his people to the front burner. He has moved motions and sponsored bills on the floor of the House that have impacted so well on Nigerians as well as his federal constituency in the last four years or thereabout.
He has influenced and still influencing both the Federal and State government as well committed his personal resources to bring projects to Yagba Federal Constituency such as the provision of water, good roads, and electricity. Many individuals from the area have personally benefitted from Abejide’s largesse which includes cars, motor–cycles, tricycles, sewing machines, foodstuffs, household materials as well as gifts running into several millions of Naira. He has made available scholarship awards to over 300 undergraduates. It must noted here too that, Hon. Abejide has empowered thousands of youths, women, artisans and the indigents from Kogi State with cash and working tools thereby moving them above chronic poverty level. Traditional rulers across the three local government areas that make up the constituency, many of them have received cars as donation from him. One very important role he has played and is still playing is that Hon. Leke Abejide has helped many youths from the constituency to secure lucrative jobs across the country. He has touched and still touching lives in no small way.
His financial contributions to his community Alu, Yagbaland, Okunland and even beyond are difficult to quantify.
He is a refined gentleman who is always working hard to be the best in whatever role given to him to play. He is an uncommon strategist who is a practitioner of the detribalized ideology. His superlative attributes have endeared him to the youths, women, artisans, indigents and the majority of Kogites.
HIS VISION AND MISSION FOR YAGBA FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY
Abejide’s vision and mission is to make the Yagba Federal Constituency a reference point to others in Nigeria, make life best for the people and create infrastructure for the future of the district anchored on these cardinal goals: adequate representation, welfare, infrastructure, reduction in poverty and rural transformation among others.
Abejide has made extensive consultations and received a substantial goodwill from a broad spectrum of the people throughout the district to go to the Nigeria’s House of Representatives to represent the good people of Yagba.
Reading between his lips, Asiwaju Leke Abejide who also doubles as Maiyegun of Egbeland, has promised to promote unity in the constituency, eliminate poverty, wants and ignorance from the area, encourage the development of agriculture and commerce, promote active participation of the people in all strategic sectors, support as well as provide gainful employment for the youths from the constituency, work towards rural integration, this is aimed at enhancing improved rural life for everyone from the area, collaborate with the state and federal government in areas of health care delivery, water supply, electricity supply and to enhance an improved educational environment for our people. All the above areas, he has promised to address if given the mandate to represent the good people of Yagba on the platform of the African Democratic Congress, a political party in which he is the national leader in Nigeria in the 2023 general elections. He is appealing to the good people of the constituency, of all shades of opinions and political lineages to join him in working towards a robust political consolidation that will serve as a fountain for the revitalization and re-awakening of our society.
HE IS READY TO SERVE
Yagba Federal Constituency is up for grab as the good people of the area will be filing out to elect their representative to the lower chamber of the national assembly in 2023 general elections in a couple of days from now. There is no doubt that several individuals have indicated their willingness to run for the position. One of them is Hon. Leke Abejide, an apostle of good governance who has made his marks in Kogi State politics especially in the current dispensation.
He has put himself forward again to serve his people and the nation in the national assembly. He needs the support of all. To every person from the constituency, the way to develop the best that is in a man like Abejide would be by electing him into office in 2023 in order to do more for the people.
Let it be stressed here clearly that there are marked differences between him and other candidates because he is honest, munificent, courageous, dutiful, committed, accessible and reliable which are absent in others.
