In the bid to harness overwhelming votes for the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC, Asiwaju Ahead Bola Tinubu and his running mate Senator Kashim Shetima in the coming February 25th presidential election.
The Tinubu/Shetima Independent Campaign Council ICC of the APC in Kogi West Senatorial District today conducted a one day Voters sensitization and training program for Coordinators in the three( 3)federal Constituencies, and the seven (7) local government coordinators and as well as that of the wards levels.
The Kogi West Coordinator For ICC, Hon Kashim Mabo in his opening remarks said that Kogi West is always a pace seater in all political process and they are proud again to be the leading light in the sensitization of electorates and in training coordinators that would further educate the electorates on the New INEC electoral process especially on the newly introduce BEVAS process.
While speaking on the importance of the sensitization and training by the Council The Secretary of the Campaign Council Hon Abidemi Adeyemi admonished the coordinators to take the training very serious because the success and the whole electoral victory of the party depends largely on how well the electorates understand the INEC guidelines and processes.
Hon Adeyemi noted that the onus of door to door sensitization and awareness depends on the abilities of the various coordinators to impacts the needed knowledge on the people.
Hon Adeyemi enjoyed the coordinators to ensure that they study and understand the Election guiding principles. Order to be able to pass the knowledge to teach electorates on how to vote and how to conduct themselves.
The training instructor, Hon Bimbo Opere explained that the BVAS is a robust system designed by INEC to eliminate all forms of electoral fraud and malpractices she noted that the BVAS device that contains all details of each voters and does not require internet access for voters verification.
She stated that the coordinators are therefore expected to win over voters for the APC and guide them accordingly to observe INEC guidelines and electoral process.
Also speaking on the sensitization and training program Hon Olumide Falake said All the previous knowledge of the voting process should be discarded and the new voting process should be strictly adhere to by the electorates.
He warned that any form of electoral violence during the elections would invalidate the entire elections in such a polling unit, he therefore appealed to the participants to avoid trouble as much as possible and be an agent of peace in their Domaine.
The Coordinators at the end of the workshop expressed confidence that they are well equipped with the requisite capacity to galvanized the votes that would lead to the victory of APC presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahead Tinubu in the presidential polls.
