Yultide: Over 100 widows, widowers receives Food items, Cash gift from CPI

In her magnanimous and sincere love for the people, over 100 widows, widowers and orphans across the state, have benefited from cash and food items distributed by the Challenged Parenthood Initiative, CPI, to celebrate Christmas in Kogi State.

Distributing the items on Tuesday, the Executive Director, CPI, Eunice Abimbola Agbogun said the gesture to bring smiles to the senior citizen and the needy started eight years ago.

Describing the beneficiaries as the hope of any nation, Agbogun charged them to continuously live together in harmony and genuine love which symbolize the celebration of Christmas.
Agbogun noted that, despite the harsh economic condition of the country, CPI had over years sustained the drive of reaching out to the less privilege by providing succor worth millions of naira to the people.

She called on them to continue to pray for Kogi state and the entire leadership of the country stressing that, no doubt it is the responsibility of the government to provide for its citizenry, there is also need for them to embark on voluntary services that will touch the lives of the common man on the street.

” I must commend you all for your hard work towards building a better country Nigeria. Your roles in proper child upbringing cannot be overemphasized as your continuous prayers for the peace of Kogi and Nigeria in general is highly appreciated.

” Being a Widow, or Widower or an orphan is not a crime. Nobody here chose to be one. But since you are in this state, you should always be happy and put aside anything bothering you as Christmas is all about love, celebration, giving and good relationship.

” On several occasion, I have told people to stop moving around to look for politicians. If you use your time very well, they will be the one coming after you. in abroad where I was before I came back to Nigeria, oil people don’t suffer. We must come out with strategic idea on how we are going to help our senior citizen”.

Agbogun however thanked partners of the organization PEE LINKS, GEEMONY and DAVE MEDICINE for their tireless effort in supporting the aged one’s in the state just as she vowed that the organization will continue to sustain this in the years to come.

Earlier, the President Lokoja Goodwill Widows Association Mrs Agbogun thanked God for keeping them alive from January to December.

She also thanked the Executive Director of CPI for always touching lives and putting smiles on the faces of the peoples saying” God will continue to uplift the organization”

Goodwill messages where however delivered by the Managing Director of PEE LINKS, Peter Onojeme,
representative of Dave Medicine, John Adeloju, and GEEMONY as they all stressed on the need for giving which is a virtue of Christianity globally.

Items distributed by CPI includes bags of rice, vegetable oils, Maggi, salts, and cash sum.
