It is a dawn of a new day as Kogi State College of Education (Technical), Mopa marks her 12th and last Matriculation Ceremony in Kabba, attended by Fifty (50) Mopamuro LGA pioneer students which were given Scholarships by Mopamuro Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Ademola Bello Destiny.

Paraphrasing the speech of the Provost of the College, Mrs Victoria Olusola Jagboro:

“It is with great appreciation to God that I welcome everyone to the 12th Matriculation Ceremony of Kogi State College of Education (Technical), Mopa.

“Permit me to express our gratitude to the Visitor, His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, for his unwavering support and effort towards the school. We believed His Excellency’s assurance and commitment to rebuild the School in Mopa has drawn Technical and Vocational Education closer to the rural dwellers”.

“My administration will remain loyal and do everything germane in the promotion of the change mantra of the State Government especially as it affects education”.

In a statement through Mopamuro PRO Mr. Tope Obajemu who represented the Chairman by reason of his unavoidable absence, submitted that the CTC remains committed to his constituents which has translated to the fulfilment of his scholarship pronouncement to the less privileged of the good people of Mopamuro LGA. In attendance was the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Hon. Shina Adeniyi and SA Education Hon. Bosede Ikusemoran.

“We must exhibit the spirit of appreciation to the Government of Kogi State for counting us worthy to have such academy presence in our dear Constituency; this has given us as the eyes of the State Government to encourage and replicate the efforts of His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo as it pertains to educational wellbeing of the citizenry”.

According to the PRO, the Caretaker Chairman commended the Management of the College of Education Technical for their relentless efforts to making sure that academics programmes find it footing at the designated centre (Technical College Mopa) in preparedness for the anticipated enabling environment as contained in the 2024 Appropriation Bill.

Speaking further on behalf of the Chairmen, MR. Tope Obajemu appreciated Yagba Federal Constituency House of Assembly Members, Hon. Ibikunle Idowu, Hon. Emmanuel Obaro and most especially Hon. Olawumi Jacob for their legislative efforts to make sure that the relocation of the College and other related matters are well attended to on the floor of the house.

More so, the Hon. Caretaker Chairman acknowledged the efforts of all members of the State Executive cabinet, Mopamuro, Yagba Federal Constituency APC stalwarts, sons and daughters for their supportive contribution towards the actualisation of this iconic citadel of learning Constituency.

However, it is pertinent to note that academic programmes will start in earnest at Mopa as the School resumes academic session.

We remain indebted to the past and present Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo for keeping their words concerning the relocation of the College and consolidation on the blue print agenda of APC led administration to take educational pursuit to a greaterheight, the PRO remarked.
