As security challenge continues to wear different colours of operation, a Government that has the zeal to secure the lives and peoperties of his people must engage different indices to curb the menace of such unwanted elements in the society and as a proactive and dynamic Governor of dear Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo understands the need to exploit and engaged the services of local Hunters across the State to complement the efforts of Security agencies to tackle insecurity.
While addressing the 50 Hunters appointed by the State Government through Mopamuro CTC, Hon. Ademola Bello Destiny clearly spelled out their duties to them, noting that their activities is a complementary one and not a replacement of professional security agencies.
This appointment is guided by law and the right of the citizenry must be respected for whoever is found doing the contrary shall be delivered to the appropriate agency for disciplinary action, said Hon Destiny.
“Your extensive knowledge of Mopamuro terrain as well as that of the neighbour Communities is why you are being engaged, and you are expected to maximise that for intelligence gathering on criminal hideouts, suspicious movements and relate it immediately to appropriate authority.”
I want to sincerely once again acknowledged with many thanks the efforts of His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo for his relentless strive to mitigate the activities of unscrupulous individuals who think Kogi State will handle them with glove hands, Hon. Destiny added.
“More so, I thanked your Excellency for your steadfastness and swift response to rescue (CUSTECH) Students Osara, Adavi LG Kogi State that were abducted in recent time. Your synegic approach on the issue has tremendously yielded result”.
The Chairman further enjoined the entire Communities to be conscious of security, stressing that different activities/development within and around Mopamuro LGA have changed the narrative of the old order. Therefore, this is a wake up call to all of us. Security is now a serious business and we must keep our heads above the water.
Hon. Destiny appreciated the effort of all sister agents for their continuous resilience at tackling the menace of men of the underworld.
