KOGI FORTHCOMING COUNCIL ELECTION: AJAOKUTA POLITICS IN PERSPECTIVE – Idris Isah Itopa.

At last, the ice has been broken and the terrain is getting crowded as the Kogi State Electoral Commission, announces the date of local government council election in the 21 local government of the state, to hold in October 19th, 2024, as a wake-up to the recent Supreme Court judgement of the local government autonomy, and kudos to our amiable and proactive administration of His Excellency, Ahmed Usman Ododo, who courageously authorized the schedule.

Now, an arrays of local government council chairmanship and councilorship hopefuls are littering the political terrains in the area, strategizing, realigning and repositioning their political structures, with a view of repositioning themselves to the battle ahead.

As Kogi State once again jostled towards another round of Council election to elect Council leaders, the political battle may widely be seen that would be the most competitive as the local government has gained legal autonomy by the Apex court.

Though, the torrents of those who strongly believe that they hold the ace about the solutions to the myraids of problems bedeviling the administration of local government in the state, have been pouring in, contesting and aspiring.

Interestingly, Ajaokuta local government is not left out of the heat and the desire to search for credible, dynamic and result-oriented personality with inpeccable track record of past achievement and man considered as brilliant achiever. Unfortunate, the mysterious aura that have been associated to the local government election in the area is the emotions, the political bickery and the conspiracy, and impossors of candidates, that are more than meet the eyes.

The good people of Ajaokuta local government should at this point in time, elect leaders that would carry their political dreams to philosophical stream and outstanding genius thinker that would always work towards the growth of his or her father land and not submitting to a mere rhetoric.

I wish Ajaokuta local government, a free, fair and peaceful forthcoming council election.
