Lokoja, Kogi State — [12/09/2024]: The Ododo Support Organisation (OSO), a key political and community advocacy Organisation in Kogi State, has expressed its deep sympathy and solidarity with the victims of the devastating fire that ravaged the GSM Village in Lokoja earlier today. The inferno, which broke out in the early hours of the day, caused extensive damage to shops, businesses, and property, leaving many traders and business owners grappling with significant losses.

he OSO, under the leadership of Engr. Suleiman Aminu Adaira, the Director General of the organization, empathized with those affected by the disaster. In a statement, Engr. Suleiman expressed the organization’s profound concern for the victims and extended prayers for their strength and resilience during this difficult time.
“The fire at the GSM Village is an unfortunate incident that has dealt a heavy blow to many hardworking traders and entrepreneurs in Lokoja. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. We understand the devastating impact this has on their livelihoods, and we stand in solidarity with them as they navigate this trying period,” the statement read.
Governor Ododo’s Swift Action Praised!
The Ododo Support Organisation also extended its sincere appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Usman Ahmed Ododo, for his prompt and compassionate response to the tragedy. “We commend the quick and decisive actions of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo, whose immediate visit to the GSM Village in the wake of the fire brought hope to the victims. His presence and words of encouragement have demonstrated his deep commitment to the welfare of every Kogite. We thank His Excellency for prioritizing the needs of the affected traders during this challenging time,” Engr. Suleiman added.
The OSO acknowledged the Governor’s proactive steps in addressing the emergency and noted his administration’s dedication to safeguarding the lives and property of Kogi State citizens.
