I, Hon. Yakubu Nazir Abdulhakeem, the Executive Secretary, Kogi State Office for Disability Affairs, extend my warm congratulations to the 21 new Chairmen and their Vice Chairmen who were sworn in on Monday. Additionally, my heartfelt congratulations go out to the 239 councillors who were inaugurated following the local government election held in the state on Saturday, October 19, 2024. I wish them success in their new roles.
As we embark on this new chapter of governance in Kogi State, I want to emphasize the importance of inclusivity. I kindly urge the elected Chairmen to ensure total inclusiveness of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in their various Local Governments. By actively involving PWDs in decision-making processes and community activities, we create a more diverse and representative society.
It is my firm belief that through embracing diversity and including all members of our community, we can build a more inclusive and equitable society. I trust that the elected officials will take this plea to heart and work towards creating a more accessible and accommodating environment for Persons with Disabilities in Kogi State.
