Ex-Kwara Deputy Speaker dies in auto crash Stephen Olufemi Oni, Ilorin

Former Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Christopher Ayeni, is dead. He died in a ghastly auto accident.

It was gathered that the accident occurred at the Igbaja road junction, in Ajase-Ipo in the Irepodun local government area of the State due to over speeding and lack of concentration.

It was also gathered that the accident reportedly claimed the lives of some other people, including another driver involved in the accident.

It was learnt that two vehicles involved in the accident are grey colour commercial Sinoki truck with registration number T-17488LA and white colour Toyota hilux pick up vehicle with registration number ARP545KY

A statement by the PRO of the Kwara state sector command of the FRSC, Basambo Olayinka, confirmed the incident, saying that five people involved in the accident are three males and two females.

The statement said that all the five people involved sustained varying degrees of injuries and that no one died at the point of rescue of the accident.

Basambo, however, said that the late Kwara Deputy Speaker died at a cottage hospital in Ajase Ipo that he was taken to for medication.

He said that items recovered at the scene of the accident include 2 ANDROID PHONES now kept with the FRSC and two bags that are with the Nigeria Police, Ajase Division.

Meanwhile, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has condoled with the family, friends, and associates of the former Deputy Speaker, describing the development as devastating.

He also commiserated with the people of Isapa in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state on the incident.

The Governor prayed to Almighty God to rest the soul of the former lawmaker and give his loved ones the strength to bear the huge loss.
