In a significant move to enhance security operations in rural communities, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo, has fulfilled his promise to support the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) outpost in Ofante, Ogugu District, with the donation of five motorcycles.
The motorcycles was presented by his zonal security adviser Rt Hon Ahmed mohammed MPI at a brief ceremony, aimed at improving the mobility and operational efficiency of the NSCDC personnel stationed in the area. Governor Ododo reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening security infrastructure across Kogi State, especially in vulnerable and remote regions.
Speaking during the handover, Governor Ododo said, “Security is a top priority for my administration, and we remain committed to equipping our security agencies with the tools they need to perform effectively. These motorcycles will enhance patrols and ensure rapid response to emergencies in Ogugu and its environs.”
The NSCDC Commandant in Kogi State, who received the motorcycles on behalf of the corps, expressed gratitude to the governor for his continuous support. He assured that the motorcycles would be put to effective use to maintain peace and protect lives and property in the district.
Community leaders and residents also lauded the governor’s gesture, noting that the improved mobility of NSCDC personnel would deter criminal activities and boost confidence in local security measures.
