The Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatima Momoh, has extended vital support to Mrs. Deborah Oluwashola Aje, in Ogori, a widow and mother of three, whose four-bedroom residence was recently razed by fire in Ogori in Ogori-Mangogo Local Government Area.
During her visit to the scene of the incident in Ogori, Hajia Momoh presented relief materials, food supplies, and financial assistance to the affected family, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to standing by vulnerable citizens in times of crisis.
In her remarks, the Commissioner expressed gratitude for the opportunity to provide assistance, praising the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo, for creating an inclusive and compassionate governance structure. She also acknowledged the impactful role of the First Lady, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, in advancing the welfare of women and children across the state.
On behalf of the Governor and First Lady, the Commissioner presented Mrs. Aje with a sewing machine, clothing materials, bed sheets, food items, and financial aid—resources aimed at enabling her to rebuild her livelihood and revive her tailoring business in Ogori, which was severely affected by the fire.
Hajia Momoh also commended the women leaders of Ogori-Mangogo for their resilience and community solidarity, assuring them of the state government’s resolve to improve living conditions and promote socio-economic development across all communities.
“The support extended today goes beyond immediate relief, it is an empowerment initiative,” she stated. “Our goal is to help Mrs. Aje regain financial independence and continue providing for her family. The government will continue to monitor her progress and offer additional support where necessary.”
Reacting, Mrs Aje expressed her appreciation to the Commissioner for the gesture, assuring that it will help her get her life together again.
