

On 11th March, 2026, family members, friends, and well-wishers of Hon. Shehu Tijjani Ebaiya gathered in honour of his late mother, Hajiya Aminat Muhammad Ebaiya for her 8th-Day Fidau Prayer, a grand occasion dedicated to prayers and remembrance of a life that touched many.
Hon. Shehu Tijjani Ebaiya, a member of the Kogi State House of Assembly, held the 8th-day Fidau prayers for his late mother, Hajiya Aminat Muhammad Ebaiya, in Karaworo, Lokoja, Kogi State.
The ceremony which took place in the family House in karaworo, Lokoja on Wednesday brought together family, friends, and Islamic scholars, including Chief Imam Sheikh Aminu Shaban, who offered prayers for forgiveness, mercy, and for the soul to be granted Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
Dignitaries in attendance included Rt. Hon. Alfa Imam, former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Umar, current Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, and Hon. Suleiman Danladi Aguye, a member of the Federal House of Representatives.
Most of the Assembly members in attendance at the fidau prayers praised Hon. Ebaiya’s leadership and described his mother as a unifier and woman of faith.
The chief Imam prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul, seek divine forgiveness for their shortcomings, and provide comfort to the grieving family.
The prayer was held in memory of Hajiya Aminat Muhammad Ebaiya who passed away at the age of 72, with tributes honoring her role as a unifier and a woman of faith.
In his remarks,Hon. Alfa Imam, former Speaker and Leader of APC in Lokoja local Government Area, described Hon. Ebaiya as a leader whose guidance and leadership left an indelible mark on Lokoja and Kogi State at large.
Hon. Ebaiya uses the occasion to distribute bags of rice to everybody in attendance, bringing warmth and comfort to everyone at the ceremony.
It was truly a remarkable day of prayers, reflection, and appreciation for a life well lived.
The ceremony reflected the values of service, commitment to family, and community solidarity.
Late Hajiya Aminat Muhammad Ebaiya is survived by her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who continue to cherish the memories and legacy she left behind.
May Almighty Allah grant her Al jannat fidous and also forgive her shortcomings, Almighty Allah will grant her Aljanah firdaous.
