The Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, was among top government functionaries and key stakeholders who attended the official opening of the Kogi Rebrand 2026 initiative, a strategic programme aimed at reshaping and promoting the state’s identity. The two-day event commenced with vibrant displays and a strong institutional presence, signalling a deliberate effort by the state government to reposition Kogi as a destination of opportunity, growth, and investment.

In his remarks, Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, Chief Brand Ambassador of the state, delivered a compelling address emphasizing the need for a unified narrative that reflects Kogi’s true identity. The Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu Oyibo, alongside other senior government officials, also expressed strong support for the initiative.

The ceremony was chaired by former Deputy Governor, Arc. Yomi Awoniyi, while revered traditional rulers, including the Ohinoyi of Ebira Land and the Obaro of Kabba, graced the occasion, with others duly represented.

Rt. Hon. Egwaba commended the organisers, particularly the Ministry of Information and Communications, for what she described as a bold and forward-thinking initiative. She also acknowledged the contributions of stakeholders, partners, and the media, whose presence and participation highlighted the significance of the rebranding effort. Reaffirming her support, the Deputy Speaker noted that Kogi Rebrand 2026 signals the dawn of a new chapter for the state, anchored on unity, vision, and a shared commitment to sustainable progress.
