

ISHI- ITALE COMMUNAL CRISIS: KOGI ASSEMBLY DEPUTY SPEAKER JOINS GOVERNOR ODODO ON PEACE VISIT.
The Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly and member representing Ibaji State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba on Friday 8th – May, 2026 joined the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo who was ably represented by his Deputy (Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo) on peace visit to Ishi and ItaIe-Iyaño communities in Ibaji local government area following the recent communal crisis between the two communities.
The Deputy Speaker’s visit with the Governor alongside Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security ( Hon. Timothy Ojomah), the State security Adviser, Rtd. Commander Jerry Omodara, Deputy chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Hillary Ojoma Egwuda, Hon. Emmanuel Onuche Ugeh, Ibaji LGC Chairman, security personnels and other APC party stakeholders was aimed at restoring peace and calmness to the two neighboring communities. She urged the angry Youths to shield their weapons, remain calm and law-abiding.
On her part, while addressing the residents of the two waring communities during the visit, the Lawmaker urged members of both communities to remain calm and avoid taking laws into their hands and cooperate with the security agencies. She adviced the two neighboring communities to desist from taking further actions that is capable of instigating violence and anarchy.
Hon.Egwaba emphasized the Government’s urgent need to assess and investigate this matter and profer a lasting solution that’s capable of restoring lasting peace to the two neighboring communities. She commended the State Government for it’s swift intervention and commitment towards restoring peace and stability to the two communities.
