Stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State have reaffirmed their support for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the party’s governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, saying the outcomes of the APC primaries reflect the wishes of the people.

The position was contained in a communique issued at the end of an all-inclusive stakeholders’ meeting held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the APC Contact Office in Jimba, Ifelodun Local Government Area.

The communique was read by the Ifelodun Local Government Chairman, Hon. Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf.

The stakeholders unanimously endorsed Danladi’s emergence as the APC governorship candidate, describing the May 22, 2026 primary election as free, fair and credible.

According to the communiqué, party leaders and members in the local government pledged their loyalty to the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and reaffirmed their determination to work for the success of the APC in the 2027 general elections.

The stakeholders also congratulated the party’s candidates who emerged from the primary elections and commended party members across the various constituencies for their support during the process.

The communique particularly appreciated stakeholders from Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun federal constituency for supporting the emergence of an Ifelodun indigene as the party’s candidate for the House of Representatives seat, describing the development as a significant milestone for the local government.

“We express appreciation to the stakeholders from our federal constituency on the support for the emergence of an Ifelodun indigene as the candidate and flagbearer of the party for the House of Representatives of our constituency during the last primary election conducted,” it appreciated.

The meeting also commended Governor AbdulRazaq’s efforts aimed at addressing security challenges and improving infrastructure across the state, especially in Ifelodun Local Government Area.

“We want to express our appreciation as well to the Executive Governor of Kwara State towards his relentless efforts in tackling the insecurity and infrastructural gap,” the communique stated.

The APC leaders dismissed claims by opposition parties that they could unseat the ruling party in the State during the next general elections, expressing confidence in the party’s grassroots support and electoral strength.

They pledged to mobilize members and supporters across the local government area to ensure victory for all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

The stakeholders further expressed optimism that the party would maintain its dominance in the Ifelodun local government area and across the State, citing its performance in previous elections and the support it continues to enjoy among residents.

In attendance were the Chairman of the APC in the Ifelodun local government area, Hon Babatunde Surajudeen; Member representing Omupo Constituency in the State House of Assembly Hon. AGF Salahudeen; the State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development Dr Segun Ogunsola; members of the local government executive and legislative arms, leaders and chieftains of the party from the 18 wards, including Alhaji AbdulRahman Akanni, Chief Peter Daramola and Elder john Oyerinde.

Various speakers agreed to close ranks and work in unison to strengthen the party and consolidate on several achievements recorded by Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration.
