Lokoja, June 30, 2026 – Senator Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West Senatorial District, has lauded the Federal Executive Council’s approval of N128.7 billion for two road rehabilitation projects in his Constituency.
In a statement on Tuesday in Lokoja, Karimi described the gesture as one of the biggest achievements under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.”
He noted that FEC, at its meeting on Monday, approved N104 billion for the rehabilitation of the Ilorin–Omu-Aran–Egbe–Kabba–Obajana Road and N24.7 billion for the Kabba–Omuo–Ifaki–Ado Road.

e said the projects were among several other roads approved nationwide.
“It is with great honour and satisfaction that we announce this milestone, especially for Kogi West Senatorial District,” he said.
Karimi attributed the development to sustained lobbying and his collaboration with top government officials, particularly the Honourable Minister of Works, Sen. Dave Umahi.
He said the approvals were in fulfillment of his campaign promise to ensure that federal roads that had hitherto been an eyesore in Kogi West were prioritized for rehabilitation and reconstruction.
The Senator expressed “profound appreciation” to President Tinubu for his leadership and commitment to placing infrastructure development at the centre of his administration.
He emphasised that Tinubu has ensured that Kogi State is a key beneficiary of this visionary leadership.
He also commended Sen. Umahi for his “outstanding performance and dedication since assuming office.”
Assuring residents of Kogi West of his continued commitment to attracting developmental opportunities, Karimi noted that the projects, which are already underway, will upon completion boost the economy, accelerate development, and enhance security in the area.
The Senator further pledged “the total support and loyalty” of his people to the leadership of President Tinubu in appreciation of the laudable projects across the district, come the next general election.
