The Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly,Rt Hon. Deaconess Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, has described her recent ordination as a divine call to deeper commitment and service in God’s vineyard.
Egwaba made the declaration during a thanksgiving and dedication service held at the United Evangelical Church (UEC), Ganaja Bypass, Lokoja, where she was ordained alongside other deacons, deaconesses and elders.
Expressing gratitude to God for the honour, the Deputy Speaker described the occasion as a significant milestone in her Christian journey, noting that being called into the office of a deaconess comes with great responsibility and sacrifice.
She explained that the position represents the highest level of spiritual service available to women in the church, emphasizing that it demands humility, dedication and selfless service to both God and humanity.
Egwaba also appreciated her family, friends and well-wishers who came from across the country to celebrate with her.
She commended the Resident Pastor of the church, Pastor Victor Obaje, for his steadfast leadership and unwavering commitment to the growth of the ministry.
The Deputy Speaker further used the occasion to solicit continued support for the church’s auditorium project, describing it as a collective effort by members of the congregation.
She expressed optimism that the project would be completed soon with sustained support and divine intervention.
In his remarks, the Resident Pastor of the United Evangelical Church, Ganaja Bypass, Lokoja, Pastor Victor Obaje, described the ordination as a historic event that would strengthen the church and accelerate its growth.
Drawing from the early Christian Church, he noted that the appointment of additional workers contributed significantly to the spread of the Gospel.
Pastor Obaje charged the newly ordained officers to remain committed to their vows, uphold the doctrines of the church and embrace leadership with humility, dedication and a spirit of selfless service.
