First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Commissions Kogi State Treasury House

The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has commissioned projects and flagged off an empowerment programme for over 800 women as part of her one-day working visit to Kogi state.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu commissioned the newly completed Kogi State Treasury House and the Primary Healthcare Centre at Lokongoma Phase I before proceeding to the Government House in Lokoja the state capital where she launched the distribution of empowerment materials and start-up grants to women beneficiaries under the Renewed Hope Initiative.

Speaking during distribution of empowernment materials to women, the first lady said the empowerment programme was designed to improve livelihoods, promote self-reliance and strengthen household incomes.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu who urged the beneficiaries of the programme to utilise the support judiciously to enhance their businesses and improve the well-being of their families, noted that the Renewed Hope Initiative remains committed to complementing government efforts in reducing poverty and expanding economic opportunities for women and vulnerable groups across the country.

She commended the first lady of Kogi state, Hajia Sefinat Ododo for her commitment to the welfare of women, families and vulnerable persons through programmes aimed at improving their livelihood.

She was received on arrival by Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo; Kogi State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo; governors from the North Central zone, ministers, senior government officials, traditional rulers, politicians and other dignitaries.
