NDMRC Defends PAP Administrator, Says Otuaro’s Reforms Are Yielding Results
A leading Niger Delta-based group, the Niger Delta Movement for Radical Change, NDMRC, has cautioned those it described as distractive elements and political jobbers to immediately halt their sustained campaign of calumny and media attacks against the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro.

The group said it has observed with dismay a recent surge in sponsored publications, frivolous petitions and false narratives aimed at discrediting the PAP Boss and distracting him from the commendable reforms he is carrying out.
In a strongly worded statement jointly signed by its President, Nelly Emma, Secretary, John Sailor and Public Relations Officer, Mukoro Stanley, and made available to newsmen, NDMRC said the attacks are the handiwork of unpatriotic elements who have lost their illegal grip on the resources of the PAP.
“The appointment of Dr. Dennis Otuaro by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has brought sanity, transparency, accountability and purposeful leadership to the Presidential Amnesty Programme. For the first time in a long while, the programme is actually serving its core mandate of sustainable peace, reintegration, education and empowerment of ex-agitators and impacted communities,” the statement read.
According to the group, Dr. Otuaro has distinguished himself through prompt payment of stipends, sanitization of the scholarship scheme, expansion of vocational training for delegates, inclusive stakeholder engagement, and a firm resolve to block all leakages that previously bled the programme.
NDMRC noted that the reforms have understandably made Dr. Otuaro a target for those who benefited from the old, corrupt order, stressing that no amount of blackmail will return the PAP to the era of bazaar.
“It is unfortunate that at a time when all well-meaning Niger Deltans and stakeholders are commending Dr. Otuaro for his people-oriented approach and his open-door policy, some disgruntled elements have chosen the path of pull-him-down syndrome. We warn them to desist forthwith or be ready to face the wrath of Niger Delta youths and stakeholders who are solidly behind the PAP Administrator,” the group warned.
The group called on the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and the Presidency to disregard the orchestrated falsehoods against Dr. Otuaro, describing them as baseless, misleading and capable of truncating the fragile peace in the region.
The NDMRC further passed a vote of implicit confidence on the PAP Boss, describing him as a grassroots leader, a technocrat and a peace advocate whose loyalty to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is unquestionable.
“We urge Dr. Dennis Otuaro not to be distracted by the noise in the market. He should remain focused, steadfast and committed to his transformational agenda. The entire Niger Delta is watching and we are proud of his achievements so far,” the statement added.
The group reaffirmed its unflinching support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, and pledged to continue to mobilize support for policies that promote peace and development in the Niger Delta.
