

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Kogi East Senatorial District, Dr. Joseph Erico, on Sunday led a delegation of party leaders, stakeholders, delegates, and other notable sons and daughters of Kogi East on a courtesy and appreciation visit to the former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Yahaya Bello, CON, at his Abuja residence.
The visit was to express profound
appreciation to the former governor for his leadership, guidance, support and fatherly role before, during and after the party’s senatorial primary election, which culminated in the emergence of Dr. Erico as the APC candidate for Kogi East Senatorial District.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Hon. Edime Edime thanked Yahaya Bello for his unwavering commitment to the unity, peace and progress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Kogi State. He described the former governor as a visionary leader whose dedication to fairness, inclusiveness and party cohesion has continued to strengthen the APC across the state.
Hon. Edime commended Bello for fostering harmony among the diverse ethnic groups in Kogi State, noting that his leadership laid a solid foundation for peaceful coexistence and political stability. He stated that the emergence of Dr. Joseph Erico as the APC senatorial candidate reflects the collective aspiration and confidence of the people of Kogi East.
He explained that the delegation considered it necessary to pay the appreciation visit in recognition of Yahaya Bello’s sacrifices, guidance and steadfast support, assuring him that party leaders, stakeholders, delegates, and the notable sons and daughters of Kogi East remain united and committed to working for the continued success of the APC in future elections.
He further reaffirmed the unwavering loyalty of the people of Kogi East to the party, pledging to uphold the values of unity, discipline and collective responsibility that have continued to keep the APC strong in Kogi State.
Responding, Yahaya Bello expressed appreciation to the delegation for the visit and congratulated Dr. Joseph Erico on his emergence as the APC candidate for Kogi East Senatorial District.
The former governor urged party members to remain peaceful, united and steadfast, stressing that only through collective effort, harmony and a shared sense of purpose could the party achieve greater success at the polls.
He called on APC faithful across Kogi East to intensify grassroots mobilisation and work together to ensure overwhelming victories for the party in the forthcoming elections.
Bello also urged members to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, expressing confidence that their leadership would continue to deliver meaningful development and move both Kogi State and Nigeria to greater heights.
The visit concluded with prayers for the continued peace, unity and progress of the APC, as members of the delegation reaffirmed their commitment to the party’s success and pledged their full support for the senatorial aspiration of Dr. Joseph Erico.
