

The Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly and Member representing Ibaji State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, on Sunday, August 30, 2026, joined dignitaries and prominent sons and daughters of Igala land at the palace of the Achadu Oko Attah in Idah for the conferment of the traditional title of Ogah-Achadu Oko Attah on the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu Oyibo.
The traditional ceremony, held at the palace of His Royal Highness, Alih Yusuf Ameh Adaji III, Achadu Oko Attah of Igala Kingdom, also formed part of activities marking the third anniversary of the traditional ruler’s reign.
The Deputy Governor was formally conferred with the prestigious title of Ogah-Achadu Oko Attah and thereafter saluted as “Dooga!” by the Achadu Oko Attah and members of his clan.
The conferment, according to the traditional institution, was in recognition of the Deputy Governor’s contributions to his people and his commitment to the development of the clan and Kogi State.
In the spirit of solidarity and respect for the traditional institution, Rt. Hon. Egwaba joined other dignitaries in celebrating the significant cultural occasion, which further highlighted the enduring importance of traditional institutions in preserving the identity, unity and values of the Igala people.
The Deputy Speaker congratulated the Deputy Governor on the well-deserved honour and wished him continued wisdom and strength in his service to Kogi State and the people.
