BIOGRAPHY OF LATE MAMA TINUOLA INUMIDUN MARIA ABERE

Late Mama Tinuola Inumidun Maria Abere was born in 1934 into the respected family of Agbayinta Okako Sumire. She lived a long and impactful life of approximately 92 years, marked by resilience, compassion, and unwavering dedication to family and community.

Her mother was Omuya. Mama lost her parents at a very tender age alongside her sibling, Late Madam Hannah Onamo Ademola Ehinmidun, who passed on in 2013.

The early loss of their parents meant that both children grew up without direct parental care, a circumstance that shaped Mama’s strength and independence from a young age.

She was initially raised by her father’s elder sister, the mother of Late Mama Rodah Jegede, fondly known as Areminomo Ojo Wuya before she moved to the home of Late Pa Philip Jegede.

In 1954, Mama Tinuola Inumidun was married to Late Pa David Aiyemola Abere. Their union was blessed with seven children.

Though she endured the painful loss of five of her children, she remained steadfast, and her two surviving children lovingly cared for her until her passing. Mama was also blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom remain a testament to her enduring legacy.

Mama was an industrious, hardworking, and determined woman. She was a successful businesswoman and contractor who worked with various ministries.

Through her trade and enterprise, she contributed significantly to the well-being of her family, supporting her husband and ensuring the survival and progress of her children despite life’s challenges.

Known for her generosity and selflessness, Mama was a woman who could give sacrificially, often putting the needs of others above her own. She extended kindness and assistance to all within her reach, earning her respect and admiration in her community.

A woman of virtue and substance, Mama embodied the true essence of motherhood. She was a source of wisdom, always offering counsel and guiding her family with words of peace, especially emphasizing the importance of forgiveness and unity.

Mama lived a purposeful and God-fearing life. She was baptized and confirmed in the Anglican Church, Lokoja, where she was a devoted member of Egbe Itesiwaju. Her faith was evident in her lifestyle and in the values she instilled in her children and those around her.
Her passing has left a deep void in our hearts. We miss her nurturing presence, her wise counsel, and her enduring love.

Adieu, Mama.
