The Baale of Amuro Kingdom, His Highness, Chief Eric Fiki, has commended Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo for his support for the community and the people of Mopamuro Local Government Area of the state.
Fiki gave the commendation on the sideline of the week-long celebration marking the 100 years anniversary of the present location of Takete-Ide community.
He thanked the governor for supporting the community’s town hall project with N35 million and for reaffirming his commitment to fix and rehabilitate the Orokere-Ayede-Takete-Ide road.
He said the road, upon completion, would boost the economy of the community and improve the wellbeing of the people.
“The governor has supported our town hall project with N35 million. We also appreciate him for promising and reaffirming his commitment to fix the Orokere-Ayede-Takete-Ide road.
“The road upon completion will go a long way to boost the economy of our community and the wellbeing of our people,” Fiki said.
The monarch also lauded the governor for his development agenda in infrastructure, health, education, agriculture, women and youth empowerment, and construction and rehabilitation of access roads, especially in rural communities.
He said the people of Takete-Ide, Amuro Kingdom and Mopamuro LGA were fully supporting the re-election of Gov. Ododo and President Bola Tinubu for second terms in the 2027 elections.
“As far as this community is concerned, we don’t know anything about any coalition against Gov. Ododo.
“We are Ododo. Everywhere in this town, we are Ododo and we are going to deliver for him and Mr. President.
“We also have a working House of Representatives member, Hon. Leke Abejide. We believe in him and we are going to deliver our votes for APC and Ododo come 2027,” he said.
Fiki described Ododo as a personal friend, humble to a fault, and a leader he believes in.
Speaking on the essence of the event, the monarch said the celebration was to give thanks to God for witnessing 100 years of their present location, to remember past heroes and celebrate the living.
He added that the event was also to raise funds to complete the town hall and palace projects, to keep the spirit of past heroes alive.
“We have always been used to self-help community projects. We don’t wait for government. That does not mean we don’t deserve the presence of government,” Fiki said.
