. The Caretaker Chairman of Ajaokuta local government, Hon. Harina Aliyu Ogido has called on the people of the area to be just, transparent and fair to all in the distribution of state palliative. . Hon. Haruna Ogido made the call in his address while flagging-off the distribution of rice palliative at the Council secretariat, Adogo. He said the palliative is one of the social investment programmes of the present administration to cushion the effects of suffering, economic hardship and hunger in the land.
The chairman commended the state government under the able leadership of the Governor, His Excellency, Alh. Ododo Ahmed Usman to put smile and succour to the people of Kogi state . He charged the party leaders and stakeholders across the 14 wards and communities to ensure smooth and hitch-free distribution of the commodity He warned that any attempt to frustrate the government good programme or diversion will be treated as sabotage and any person caught will be made to face full wrath of the law. He restated his commitment to serve Ajaokuta people to the best of his ability where open door policy will be the cornerstone of his administration to better the lots of the people. Speaking, the APC chairman in Ajaokuta LGA, Hon. Yusuf O, Yakubu praised the initiative of the government for the donation of food item and assured the chairman that they will not disappoint the government in the task of the distribution of the rice in wards, communities and localities. He called for support to the Governor of Kogi state, His Excellency, Alh. Ododo Ahmed Usman to enable him provide more democratic dividend to kogites. The APC chairman stated the party executive at the local government level to be transparent and exemplary in piloting the affairs of the party in the area. In his goodwill messAge, the Oh I of Eganyi, His Royal Highness, Alh. Isah Achuja commended the noble gesture of the government to reduce the suffering and hardship In the land. He said that with the present situation, the government could still do more to reduce suffering and poverty level of the people. He thanked the Council chairman for his all inclusive administration and prayed to God to guide him in his desire to serve the local government well. The royal father reminded the people to see the difference in governance and urged them to support the government at all levels. A chieftain of APC, Hon. Hussein Balogun lauded Governor Ododo Usman for the provision of food item to ameliorate hunger in the land. He maintained that APC as a party and other stakeholders will collaborate for the distribution of food item without complaints from the people. Hon. Hussein Balogun who was former APC chairman in Ajaokuta LGA, called on all political appointees to work as a team to save Ajaokuta people better. Performing vote of thanks, the Director of Local Government, Mall. Salihu Eku Muss described the palliative as big relief to the people of the area and prayed for trouble free distribution exercise. The DLG who was represented by DPM, Mr. Sanni O. Malibu, praised the initiative of the chairman for a job well done for all inclusive distribution of palliative item.
