
The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf has promised more purposeful representation for the entire State, particularly the people of his immediate Constituency and Lokoja Local Government Area.
He made the promise on Saturday during an open Iftar (Breaking of Ramadan Fast) which held in Lokoja with the member representing Lokoja/Kogi Kotonkarfe Federal Constituency, Hon Danladi Aguye, the member representing Lokoja I State Constituency, Hon Bin-Ebaiya Shehu Tijjani, the Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, the State Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr Farouk Yahaya, political heavyweights, party stalwarts, and other office holders and stakeholders in attendance.
The Speaker stated the desire of the current office holders in Lokoja Local Government to continue to unite and strive for the development of the area.
He emphasized the roles of members of the National Assembly from the Senatorial District, and the Federal and State Constituencies to make the best of the current situation and ensure they attract necessary dividends of democracy to the people.
Rt Hon Umar, who expressed gratitude to the people for their patience and understanding, passed a vote of confidence on the office holders, stating that they have shown their commitment to attracting development to the area.
He particularly thanked the leader of the APC in Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, Alhaji Suleiman Baba-Ali for his love and passion towards the wellbeing of the people of the area, adding that they would continue to rally round his unique leadership style for the good of the people.
In their remarks, the member representing Lokoja/Kogi (Kotonkarfe) Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon Danladi Suleiman Aguye, the member representing Lokoja I State Constituency, Hon Bin Ebaiya Shehu Tijani, the Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Transition Committee, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu and the Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr Farouk Yahaya all expressed gratitude to the Speaker for his commitment towards uniting the people of the area and attracting development.
They all promised to continue to strive towards improved governance and human capital and infrastructural development for the good of the people.
