Security: We cannot leave Thousands of Mopamuro citizens in the hands of Nigerian Police force alone, Hon. Ademola Bello Mopamuro Destiny tells KSVS.

Furtherance to ratify the security structure and formation of various local security outfits in Mopamuro LG, the Chairman Transition Committee, Hon. Destiny today holds meeting with Kogi State Vigilante Services (KSVS) Mopamuro command to redesign the mode of operation across the Local Government.

While adressing the group numbering about Sixty (60) officers, the Chairman orerders the commandant to with immediate effect withdraw all officers attached to past political office holder in Mopamuro in order to have enough officers for effective operation.

Henceforth, officers should be posted to their respective wards and Community to enhance adequate intelligent information gathering and smooth work environment, the Chairman instructed the Commandant.

The DLG-Mrs AB Job and the Council Secretary- Hon. Wale Elekula were to supervise the duty formation and make sure all the sister agencies in the Local Government are on the same page for operation collaboration.

Asking for the challenges they are facing, one of the officers observes that mobility is their major challenge and in addition, they are deficient in the area of ammunition.

Responding to the aforementioned challenges, the Hon. Chairman blamed the vigilante group for lack of maintenance spirit and warns against such henceforth noting that the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is seriously working on mobility provision in no distance time including ammunition.

Moreover, he declared a suspect who has been causing some soicial vices in the Local Government wanted (name withheld) to be provided unfailingly within a week.

Not only that, flaunting/brandishing of cutlasses and dangerous weapons on the street of Mopamuro illegally by anybody especially the Hausa/Fulani, Tiv, Ebira and other tribes cohabiting in Mopamuro is herby prohibited. this message has been passed to their leaders to forestall violation of the new law. Whoever is found wanting shall be arrested and such weapon shall be ceased the by authority, the Chairman submitted.

The DLG appreciated the Chairman for his concerted effort on security and enjoines the vigilante group to “up” their games to encourage the effort of the Chairman on the subject of discussion.
