Five Executive Bills have passed through first reading in Kogi State House of Assembly
Recently, Kogi State Executive Council approved the establishment of Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara to enable the state compete favourably with its counterpart.
To give a legal framework to the University, Governor Yahaya Bello forwarded a letter to the State House of Assembly for a law to establish the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara.
The Speaker, Prince Matthew Kolawole while reading the letter of the Governor at plenary said the bill when passed into law will enable the state catch up with the world in the area of Science and Technology.
Also, a bill for a law to provide for the Establishment of the Central Reference Hospital, Okene and other matters connected therewith twenty-twenty has passed through first reading.
The Governor said health is one of the thematic agenda of his administration, hence the bill to establish the hospital.
Others are; a bill for a law to make provision for the Office of the Auditor General of Local Government Areas in Kogi State, Enact the Local Government Audit Law and other matters connected therewith as well as a bill for a law to Repeal and Re-enact the Kogi State Public Procurement Law twenty fourteen establishing the state Council on Public Procurement and the State Bureau of Public Procurement and other matters connected therewith.
