As Nigerian marks her Sixtieth Independence Day Anniversary, the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs Ayoade Arike Folashade, Ph.D, felicitates with President Muhammadu Buhari and her Principal Alhaji Yahaya Bello for their efforts towards driving Nigeria and Kogi State to a unified Nation and State devoid of underdevelopment.
She also congratulates Nigerians who according to her are the main reasons why Nigeria exist, noting that regardless of diverse ethnicity and sociocultural differences, the country is still tied together with love and unity which is the source of its strength.
Dr. Ayoade said Nigeria is a country blessed with abundance of both human and natural mineral resources and with a prudent usage of these resources, we are sure of moving the country to an enviable height laced with progressive developmental strides capable of putting the country in the list of leagues of developed countries.
She pointed out that Nigeria being referred to as the giant of Africa is enough to keep our morales high while we remember unperturbed in matching towards greatness.
“The continuity in our rise as a country lies in the hands of all Nigerians regardless of Political, Sociocultural, religious and socioeconomic status, it is not the responsibility of one single individual neither is it that of government alone, we must not be discouraged in striving to make our motherland a place where everyone across the globe will be so hungry to come to having known us as giants of the Africa Continent.”
The Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, also noted that the Independence being celebrated today should not be celebrated not just in words but must be encouraged even in character and in actions, stressing that words backed with actions was the tools our founding fathers used to fight for the Independence we enjoy today as a country and only by sustaining this action can we keep our flag flying high amidst all odds.
“Rather than encourage division amongst ourself as a unified entity, we should draw life from the already existing bond of love which has given us strength to strive even to where we are today, for if the fights of our heroes past must not be in vain, we must remain United for upon this unity were they able to achieve the Independence that we are enjoying today”.
