The families of Sir Matthew Oluwashanu Lawani wish to announce the passing on to eternal glory of their lovely husband, father, grandfather, brother , cousin and uncle who departed this world on 8th of March, 2021 at the age of 94 years.
Sir Lawani , lived a life of fulfilment and accomplishment through the dints of hard work, dexterity and commitment.
The late father of all by virtue of his political antecedents, served in the Nigerian Police Force and retired meritoriously having attained the retirement age before he venture into politics
He occupied the political space of Ogori , weaved members of his political party the People Democratic Party (PDP) together without an iota of sentiment or bias and that quality earned him the party’s Chairmanship position of Ogori.
His generosity however also earned him to be a father in-law to prominent personalities; Mr Mike Omoloju former General Manager (Human Resources) at the NNPC. former Senate President Iyosha Ayu ,former Commissioner for Information in Kogi State Hon. Bode Ogunmola ,Mr Taiye Aladuge and father to former Commissioner for women Afare Hon, Mrs Yemise Ogunmola
Moreso, funeral arrangement has been slated as follows; Requiem Mass will hold at Saint Andrews Catholic Church , Ogori on Friday 30th April , 2021 by 6:00pm prompt while the funeral service was slated for Saturday 1st May, 2021 at the same venue by 9:00am prompt.
Reception however will comes up after internment as traditional dance followed immediately at Saint Andrews Catholic Church field Ogori.
