HON. AMODU IBRAHIM ON THE RIGHT TRACK
Hon. Ibrahim Amodu is the duly elected Chairman in Ofu Local Government in the last Local Government election held on the 14th December, 2020.
Hon. Amodu Ibrahim knowing the agitations of his people did not waste time in hitting the ground running to show capacity and competence, no wonder, in marking his 100 days in the office, it amazed us on the developmental indices witness by our team of volunteers that visited the Local Government on 24th March, 2020.
Marking 100 days is very significant in the lives of any administrator to show those he governs that he knows exactly what he was elected to do as a representative of the people.
We are proud to report that as high witnesses to the commissioned projects and the on-going, Hon. Amodu is on the right course towards moving Ofu Local Government to a greater height.
In 100 days, the Chairman has the following to show to his credit, as a proactive Chairman securing the Local Government from kidnappers, armed robbery, banditries and all forms of security challenges is key to development, as emphasized by His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, when they were inaugurated.
On the assumption, the Chairman immediately embarked on the construction of a contrabulary police office in Ugwolawo community to secure lives and properties of the Local Government.
As a servant of the people and an errand, his activities needs information dissemination to allow the followership follow his track records of achievements he procured some information equipments such WK1504 World King Wireless Amplifier which is in use before the 100 days.
The determination to succeed and to boost the morale of the electorates especially as a young man and the focal direction of His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello in empowering the youths, he bought two (2) sets of jerseys, two sets of track suits and some footballs for the Local Government to engage the minds of the youths to be distracted from idleness which is the devils workshop.
All evils are planned and executed in the night and to check these excesses of the bad boys in the communities, and to brighten the areas for development, he refurbished two 500KVA transformers for Akpagidigbo community in the same objective, he provided solar street lights for Ugwolawo town.
Hon. Amodu in line with the vision of Alh. Yahaya Bello on assumption arrested some suspected kidnappers around Agbakpedo in ugwolawo districts and Achigili area of Itobe districts by the vigilante group.
According to information, these areas were used for hideout for all sorts of criminals in the Local Government, but since the operation, those routes have become safe for motorist, motorcycles and all passersby in the area mentioned above.
One of the major achievements in a short while is to identify what the Local Government represents to avoid being distracted from the culture of the land by constructing status sculptures and a signpost at the Secretariat that represent a woman fetching water from Ofu river which is the cultural identity that was brought to life by this administration led by Hon. Amodu as the people’s oracle.
This is indeed a modest achievement in 100 days which attracted volunteers and some opposition political parties to pass a vote of confidence on him for showing character and competence in the leadership of the Local Government. we use this channel to call the sons and daughters home and in diaspora to support Hon. Amodu Ibrahim .to transform the Local Government in his time.
Even as we have beamed our searchlight on the progress of this Local Government, the Chairman should be encouraged and be prepared to face the challenges ahead especially as he has promised to carry everybody along devoid of political party affiliation to attracts more people into the APC.
