Rt.Hon Momoh-Jimoh Lawal donates four classrooms, two offices to GDSS Iruvucheba

Former Speaker , Kogi State House of Assembly Rt.Hon Momoh-Jimoh Lawal donated a block of four classrooms and two administrative offices to the management of Government Day Secondary School (GDSS) Iruvucheba, Okene, Kogi State.

Speaking shortly after he hand over the classes to the college management at the premises of the school on Saturday, Rt Hon. Lawal said the donation of the classrooms was borne out of his desire to promote education by creating conducive environment for teaching and learning.

“My passion for education has no bound. Education is one of the major legacy parents can bequeath to their children and these days because of the current economic situation government alone can not provide the needs for quality education in terms of infrastructure , that was why in my own little way I decided to donate the four classrooms and two administrative offices to the college.

“As long as I am alive I will continue to invest in areas that will benefit humanity” he said

While calling other spirited individual and corporate organisations to extend hands of fellowship to education sector , the former Speaker charged the management of the college to judiciously utilize and maintain the structure to serve the students and staff better.

Commenting of the gesture, Mallam Usman Yusuf described Rt Hon. Lawal as a true leader who still remember his people with project even after he left office.

He called on politicians especially political office holders to emulate the kind gesture of the former Speaker in order to make the society a peaceful place.
