MRS. ONYEGBULE, PETRA AKINTI
A youth mobilizer and philanthropist
Petra Akinti Onyegbule was born on Thursday, October 1, 1981 in Okengwen General Hospital,

Kogi State and was immediately named ‘Iyabo’ in memoriam of her maternal grandmother.
She has degrees in Sociology and International Affairs/Strategic Studies. Always one to remind all how much joy and pride she derives from being a Sociologist, her professional experience has straddled advocacy and communications. She was an advocacy officer on Oil and Gas Project of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria and later Programs Manager, Socio Economic Justice of CSN. Petra was the pioneer Executive Secretary/Advocacy Officer of Credit Bureau Association of Nigeria helping to set up structure for the organisation before moving into communications and public relations.
Married to Nnaemeka Ford Onyegbule, the birth of their daughter at 25 weeks inspired her advocacy for better outcomes for premature babies and better maternal and newborn health.
Petra is also an advocate of mental health. This, she does with Asido Foundation. She gives insights into her personal struggles with depression and how she is dealing with it. This she does to encourage people with similar challenges to speak up and seek help. By speaking openly about her experiences with depression, she hopes to remove the stigma associated with mental illnesses. She also creates awareness on other mental health issues.
Petra had a stint in public office when she became the Chief Press Secretary to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello shortly after his election; a position she resigned from in 2019.
Currently, she is the Chief Responsibility of Officer of two firms; LibraPrime Communications, a PR and perception management company and Àníkẹ́ Robert Clothing, a clothing firm which derives its strength from aTEEtude of its customers birthed from Petra’s belief that one’s clothing as well as immediate social disposition have an impact on their mental well-being and attitude to life.
Her assistant described her in the following words: “Petra is one of the strongest women I have come to know. She has been through a lot but she has come out very victorious in everything life has thrown at her.
She embodies Class. Excellence. Grace. Grit. Resilience. Petra has a knack for excellence.  People who have worked with her can attest to her undying spirit of excellence. Nothing short of excellence. When you see Petra you see excellence in its purest and undiluted form.
Her life is marked by excellence. She is living a life of excellence and integrity and these have positively affected many generations in Ogori.
She is a woman that has a powerful presence and everywhere she goes, her impact is always felt.
She is not just a boss to her employees but a friend and a sister. A visit to her office would confirm this.
One thing that drew many closer to Petra is her ability to maintain consistency and also use her voice even when others cower in fear or favour.
Petra from outside could be viewed as a ‘hard person’ but getting to know her you get to know humanity in its unsullied state.”
