Member representing Lokoja II constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Idris Ndako visited Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman, The Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.
The visit is to familiarize and congratulated him on his New Appointment as the Head of the Institution. He applauds him for his giant developmental strides put in place in the Institution and raising the standard of the school to a better one. He urged him to sustain the tempo that felele community will support him in bringing development to the institution. Ndako appreciate the Rector on the way he handles the security situation in the institution, saying in the history of Kogi State polytechnic, Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman have been outstanding in overall performance as Rector of the institution.
The Lawmaker appeals to the Rector to assist his Constituency in the areas of Employment to his people. He said when the youths are gainfully employed, it will reduced youths restiveness and criminal activities in the society. He said that , Lokoja II constituency has many graduates who are yet to be employed that has been a serious issue that bothered him on a daily basis. He urged him to look into it by helping his people in the areas of Employment.
In his remarks, The Rector of the polytechnic Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman thanked Honorable member for the visit and appreciate him for the good work he has been doing in his Constituency. Dr Salisu Usman said Education is the best opportunity we can used to develop the society that is the reason why the polytechnic set good standard in giving to the students the quality of education needed in the institution.
He however urged for synergy Between the polytechnic and Hon Idris Ndako especially in the area of security in the polytechnic community and felele at Large. The Rector promised to look into the areas of employment and admission for the people of Lokoja II constituency.
Meanwhile, the Rector presented some items that were produced by the students who were under entrepreneurship program in the polytechnic, the items includes pomades, dye cloth (batik) and Dettol etc. He stated that, the institution has created enabling environment for learning and asked for cooperation with the immediate community for the development of the institution.
